Privacy Policy

The short version

LevelerPro is a static web page. It has no accounts and no sign-up. Your tilt readings are calculated inside your browser and are never sent to us or to anyone else. We do run Google Analytics, which counts page visits and sets a cookie to tell a returning visit from a new one. Everything else the tool remembers is a few preferences saved in your own browser, which you can clear at any time.

What we collect

Nothing you type or measure. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or location, and there is no form on this site that submits data to us. We do not run advertising, session recording, or fingerprinting scripts, and no tilt reading is ever collected.

What we do collect is anonymous visit statistics, described in the next section. Because there is no account system, there is no profile to export or delete, and nothing in those statistics is tied to a name.

Analytics and cookies

This site loads Google Analytics 4 so we can see how many people use the tool and which pages they land on. It is the only third-party script on the site, and it runs on every page.

It records the page you viewed, roughly when, the referring link if there was one, your approximate location from your IP address at around city level, and general device details such as browser, operating system, and screen size. Google discards the full IP address rather than storing it alongside the report. To recognise a repeat visit, the script writes cookies named _ga and _ga_<id> to your browser. Those are the only cookies this site sets.

Your tilt readings, your calibration offset, and your settings are not part of this. Nothing from the leveler itself is sent to Google. If you would rather not be counted, any content blocker or privacy browser that blocksgoogletagmanager.com stops the script from loading, and the tool works exactly the same without it. Google also publishes an officialopt-out browser add-on, and its own explanation ofhow it handles data from sites that use its services.

What stays on your device

So the leveler opens the way you left it, two values are written to your browser's local storage. Local storage is not a cookie: it is never attached to a network request, so it cannot travel to a server.

• levelerpro:settings holds your vial placement, unit choice, vial range, the invert-axes setting, and your calibration offset.
• levelerpro:theme holds whether you picked the light or dark theme.

Your vial placement also appears in the page address, in the form?edges=top,left&eye=1, so you can bookmark or share a particular layout. That address is handled by your browser like any other URL.

Clearing site data for levelerpro.com in your browser settings removes all of it, and the tool returns to its defaults.

Motion and orientation data

To show a live reading, the page asks your browser for the device orientation signal. On iPhone and iPad you have to grant that explicitly, which is why there is an Enable Motion Sensor button. On Android it is granted automatically over a secure connection.

That signal is used for one thing: working out which way the bubble should move. It is filtered, drawn on screen, and discarded frame by frame. It is not recorded, not stored, and not transmitted. If you deny the permission, the tool falls back to a drag preview and nothing else changes.

Third parties

Google Analytics is the one third party involved, and its role is limited to the visit statistics above. There are no embedded videos, social widgets, comment systems, or advertising networks. The fonts are self-hosted from our own domain rather than loaded from a font service, and the hosting provider serves the pages themselves.

We do not sell or rent data to anyone, and the analytics data is not shared onward beyond Google's role in producing the reports.

Server logs

The site is served by a hosting provider, and like almost every web host it may create standard request logs. These typically record an IP address, a user agent string, the page requested, and a timestamp, and they exist for security and reliability rather than for marketing. We do not use those logs to build profiles or to identify individuals, and we do not combine them with anything else.

Your choices

You can clear the stored preferences and the analytics cookies at any time through your browser's site data settings. You can block the analytics script with a content blocker, as described above. You can revoke motion access in your browser's site permissions. You can use the tool with JavaScript restricted, though the vials will not read without it. We hold no name, email address, or account for you, so requests to access, correct, or erase personal data have very little to act on, but you are welcome toget in touch and we will confirm what we do and do not have.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. If we ever add something that collects more than the visit statistics described here, this page will say so before it ships rather than after.
